During early childhood, especially before the age of two, social interaction and continuous stimulation through play, reading, and conversations are essential for healthy speech development. Screen use during this period can negatively affect these developmental milestones.  <\/p>\n<h2 data-start=\"1059\" data-end=\"1576\"><strong data-start=\"1059\" data-end=\"1097\">When is the Right Time for Screens?<\/strong><\/h2>\n<p data-start=\"1059\" data-end=\"1576\">The World Health Organization (WHO) recommends that children under two years old have no contact with screens. This includes everything from educational videos to those songs that parents often use to entertain their little ones. Gabriella emphasizes that children&#8217;s brains need direct stimuli, such as reading, physical play, and social interaction, to develop properly.   <strong data-start=\"1488\" data-end=\"1520\">Zero screens until age two.<\/strong> After this age, strict control should be maintained.<\/p>\n<h2 data-start=\"1578\" data-end=\"2084\"><strong data-start=\"1578\" data-end=\"1632\">What Happens when Screen Time is Excessive?<\/strong><\/h2>\n<p data-start=\"1578\" data-end=\"2084\">Excessive screen use can delay speech and language development, creating difficulties in expression and even speech disorders. Gabriella told us about cases such as a child who began to imitate a Rio de Janeiro accent due to excessive videos watched on digital platforms, even without having contact with people from that region. Gabriella suggests that instead of drastically cutting screen use, parents should establish a gradual \u201cdigital weaning\u201d, making screen time more controlled and agreeing with the child on specific times for it. The most important thing is to set an example and create opportunities for real interactions, such as games, storytelling, and play that stimulate creativity and communication.  <\/p>\n<h2 data-start=\"2623\" data-end=\"2675\"><strong data-start=\"2623\" data-end=\"2673\">Practical Tips for Balancing Screen Time<\/strong><\/h2>\n<ul data-start=\"2676\" data-end=\"3122\">\n<li data-start=\"2676\" data-end=\"2756\">\n<p data-start=\"2678\" data-end=\"2756\"><strong data-start=\"2678\" data-end=\"2710\">Create screen-free times<\/strong>, such as during meals and before bedtime.<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<li data-start=\"2757\" data-end=\"2829\">\n<p data-start=\"2759\" data-end=\"2829\"><strong data-start=\"2759\" data-end=\"2782\">Encourage reading<\/strong>, rhyming games, and storytelling.<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<li data-start=\"2830\" data-end=\"2984\">\n<p data-start=\"2832\" data-end=\"2984\"><strong data-start=\"2832\" data-end=\"2848\">Play together<\/strong>!
