Meditation can be the key to transforming your well-being, especially in moments of stress or when we need a break from the fast-paced rhythm of daily life. In this first episode of our meditation series, in partnership with facilitator Mariana Messina, we’ll explore how simple minutes of mindful breathing can bring great benefits to your mental and emotional health. The idea is to help you reconnect with the present and relieve tension, whether at work, at home, or in any other environment. So, shall we embark on this cycle of “meditation for relaxation at home: how breathing can transform your well-being”?!

The Importance of Pausing and Breathing

The practice of meditation begins with presence and breathing. Even if you’re busy or in a hectic environment, it’s possible to find a moment to breathe deeply and release tension. It’s not about meditating for hours, but dedicating a few minutes to pause and pay attention to your body and mind. Deep breathing is a powerful tool for reducing stress and improving focus. Just three deep breaths can be enough to bring more calm and clarity to your day.

Practical tip: when breathing, count your breath. Inhale deeply for 3, 4, or 5 seconds, and then exhale for the same count. If your mind wanders, don’t worry, just return to counting your breath. This simple exercise helps increase concentration and quickly relaxes you.

Releasing Body Tension

During meditation, it’s also important to notice physical tensions that we accumulate throughout the day. By focusing on your breath, you begin to connect with your body and notice where there’s discomfort or stiffness. As you release your breath, imagine you’re letting go of any excessive tension, whether in your neck, shoulders, or even in your mind. This release is essential for promoting balance between body and mind.

Quick exercise: breathe in for 3 seconds and exhale for 5 or 6 seconds. As you exhale, imagine that you’re really releasing everything that’s in excess, whether physical or mental. Practice this deep breathing whenever you need to relax.
