Summer Olympics: How to Entertain Kids Without Screens and Create Unforgettable Family Memories
School holidays have arrived, and with them, the challenge of keeping children entertained without relying on screens. With this in mind, we’ve created a creative and fun idea for parents: the Kids’ Summer Olympics. In our first live session on the topic, led by our co-founder, Erick Melo, we showed how it’s possible to engage children in enjoyable and educational activities, away from devices, creating an environment of fun and learning.
What are the Kids’ Summer Olympics?
The Summer Olympics: How to Entertain Kids Without Screens and Create Memories has a simple proposal: involve children in healthy competition, where they themselves are responsible for choosing team names, creating flags, and even defining the games! The event’s dynamic is true family fun, and the best part: without relying on screens. At the end, of course, the big winners will receive an award that will keep everyone motivated to continue participating in the activities.

How Does it Work?
In each episode, we show how to create simple games, such as egg and spoon races, t-shirt painting, and even a pie in the face with whipped cream! The idea is to involve children from the start in the Summer Olympics, allowing them to actively participate in the organization, which makes the process even more special. They choose a name for the team, make their own uniforms, and prepare to compete with great enthusiasm. The competition, although intense, is an incredible opportunity to strengthen family bonds and ensure that the holidays are full of good memories.
What Can You Learn and Teach with the Summer Olympics?
-
Creativity: involve the little ones in planning and executing activities.
-
Autonomy: they choose the names, activities, and even the rules!
-
Screen-free fun: physical games, like water balloon races and “paintball” with paint, are alternatives to keep children active.
-
Family traditions: by creating events like these Olympics, you build memories that stay with children for a lifetime.

Kids’ Summer Olympics and the mission to entertain little ones without screens
Erick’s tip: Make these Olympics a long-term holiday event! Instead of a short competition, plan activities throughout the entire month of July, so everyone stays motivated and you can integrate other family games and activities.
